When I read the headline, I thought the article would reveal that the County is operating parking facilities at a loss. Instead, the article only makes the case that the County charges less than market rates.Donaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08926229527412318483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535390.post-86255213606669221652011-03-17T17:35:21.959-04:002011-03-17T17:35:21.959-04:00There's a fairly hilarious sentiment in Cincin...There's a fairly hilarious sentiment in Cincinnati that parking lots are some kind of lucrative deployment of capital.

Ideally, you want a building there! When commercial developments are built in Blue Ash, Anderson Township or Green Township, they typically receive county incentives which pay (or offset) the associated infrastructure costs.

I for one wholeheartedly disagree that parking should be considered infrastructure, but at this day and age it is. So while the county may not own those suburban parking facilities, they are paying for them and thus allowing the shoppers and office workers to park there for free. If the developer had to absorb those costs they would be past on to the user.Randy Simeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14272257274373604807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535390.post-49059304705432947172011-03-17T11:19:01.800-04:002011-03-17T11:19:01.800-04:00If they have a problem with the county spending mo...If they have a problem with the county spending money in Cincinnati, the county should vote to move the seat elsewhere... like Cheviot or Norwood... or Harrison.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02216836899491528097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535390.post-26045376544573158332011-03-17T10:47:42.389-04:002011-03-17T10:47:42.389-04:00What Travis sed.
